The 23-year-old from Valais convinced Völkl with his creative riding as well as his image, both of which secured him a lot of coverage in well-known international magazines, such as Snowboarder (Italy), Frequency Magazine (USA) and Snowboarder MBM (Germany).
This season, the "powder grinder" will once again devote his time to various shoots, filming, and own projects in the backcountry! Examples are René Eckert's snowboard documentary on Kashmir, and his own film project. In his opinion, snowboarding is not so much about competition and results as it is about being passionate about snowboarding and pushing your limits in backcountry sessions! To him a good shot is worth way more than a number next to his name on a ranking list.
"I am super stoked to become part of the Völkl international team! The guys at Völkl work closely with us riders, and they actually appreciate our feedback on board technology and design. I am really proud to be part of the team," Martin comments on his promotion.
Völkl Snowboards is also more than happy with the Swiss. Michi Weinländer, Völkl's International Marketing Manager, comes right to the point by saying: "We are happy to welcome Martin to the international team. Time and again he surprises us with his creative riding skills, his productivity, and his professional attitude towards sponsors, photographers, and magazines. And above all, he is a really nice guy who suits our team perfectly!"
Martin’s new team mates at the Völkl international team will be some well-known riders like Aline Bock, Chris ‘CK’ Kröll and Keiji Okamoto. Keep your eyes peeled for more from the Swiss rider ... welcome to the international team!
