What do top model Heidi Klum and Völkl team rider Chris 'CK' Kröll have in common? Certainly not the long blond hair ... Instead, both are looking for new talents! Völkl Snowboard's Rookie Scouting website gives young guns the chance to apply for a spot in the Völkl team and a 1-year sponsoring contract.
You don't need to send an excessive application or huge stacks of photos to be part of snowboarding's first official platform for sponsoring contracts – Völkl's Rookie Scouting is all about the digital world! Signing up for the online scouting is very easy and 100% free for adolescent snowboarders, you only need to give some basic information and upload your best shots or integrate links to your online video clips.
The Rookie Scouting offers two categories: While 15 to 18 year old girls and boys can sign up for the ROOKIES, the GROM category accepts kids up to 15 years.
Chosen rookies will then be invited to spend a snowboard weekend with some of Völkl's team riders in the Zillertal in Austria. Being the host, Chris Kröll will show the group his home turf, guide them into the backcountry to find the best kicker spots and hit the local snow parks with them. A professional photographer and filmer will be part of the group and capture the best shots of the rookies.
At the end of the weekend, the entire Völkl team will come together and decide who will be admitted to the team and not only take home a 1-year sponsoring contract but also their very first poster shot.
Good luck and ride safe ...
